Relationship and Sex Education (RSE)

Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) is taught to all year groups at Pembroke Academy as part of timetabled Life lessons.  The curriculum and lessons are designed to provide students with the necessary skills to form and keep healthy relationships in the modern world.  Lessons are age appropriate and taught by a dedicated body of staff.

Topics taught to students include all those recommended by the PSHE Association through their Programme of Study as well as guidance from the Lincolnshire Locally Agreed Syllabus for Religious Education.  The four core themes covered are:

  1. Health and Wellbeing
  2. Living in the Wider World
  3. Relationships
  4. Religious Education

Other topics may be required to be taught during the academic year as we review the emerging needs of the students.
