Vision & Purpose Priory

The curriculum at Priory Pembroke Academy is designed to improve students’ life chances and develop them into successful citizens of the world by being truly inclusive for all learners, especially disadvantaged, those with SEND and students with multiple vulnerabilities. As part of the Priory Federation of Academies Trust, Pembroke’s Curriculum Vision statement speaks directly to the Trust’s, whilst tailoring it to reflect its unique community.

Curriculum is expertly-sequenced using the principles in Dimension one of The Great Teaching Toolkit.
Trust “Ambitious Endpoints” define key substantive and disciplinary knowledge to be learned by students at the end of each academic year.
Lessons begin with “Before, Now, Next” to contextualize learning.

Intelligent Assessment

Assessments guide both student feedback and curriculum refinement.
Use of Trust-wide assessments enables benchmarking and sharing of best practice.
Feedback follows the PIN model (Praise, Improvements, Next steps) and includes FIT lessons (Feedback and Improvement Time).
