Meet the Governors
Members of The Priory Pembroke Academy Governing Committee come from a wide variety of different backgrounds. Below you will find a short biography of each of our Governors.
I have been extremely proud and honoured to be part of the Priory Pembroke Academy journey over the last three years and am enthused over my role as Chair of the Local Governing Body.
The growth and development of the academy is important to us all, and the academy is a credit to all staff and pupils alike. Previously, I served in governance at primary school level as a parent Governor, leading onto becoming Chair of the Resources committee. I also work with an awarding body where the journey is paramount, through enjoyment, exploration, quality of provision and a safe learning environment. These values are important to all and the school values encompass these more.
It is a pleasure to be part of the Priory Pembroke Academy, and I look forward to our exciting future over the coming years.
I have been the chair of governors at Pembroke Academy for the last 3 years. Previous to this I was also a governor at Cherry Willingham School.
I live and work locally and have a deep interest in the success of the Academy. My son left year 11 last year and moved onto post 16 provision. I have decided to remain on the governing body for at least another year and will serve as the deputy chair.
Pembroke has made significant progress and I have enjoyed being part of its journey so far.
I worked in the education sector over several decades. Starting as a classroom teacher which lead into being a Head of Department and included a couple of years being an Assistant Head of Year. I also became an Advanced Skills Teacher which I thoroughly enjoyed as it gave me the opportunity to liaise with a range of schools. I finished my career in education as a Deputy Head Teacher at The Priory Academy LSST. I am looking forward to working with the students, staff and the wider community at The Pembroke Academy where I sincerely hope my considerable experience in education can be of value.
I was absolutely delighted to be asked to come on board as a governor in Sept 2018. Having past experience in Welfare & duty of Care, Safeguarding and OFSTED requirements, i am hoping to be able to assist the school in its future development and growth. I am extremely excited about the future and what it might hold, and in playing an active part i supporting the school, its pupils, parents and staff. I have 2 children currently in LSST, and i have watched them grow and flourish in the exceptional learning environment that The Priory Federation of Academies provides. I will now be working hard to ensure that the pupils at The Priory Pembroke Academy have the same opportunities and support during their school years. I truly believe that the possibilities are endless, if you only believe in yourself!
It is a privilege to join the Priory Pembroke Academy Local Governing Body. I am delighted to support the academy and the wider federation which commits to outstanding outcomes for students and the whole community. I offer a background in education as a teacher, senior leader secondary and Local Authority Adviser in the Arts and Humanities with a music specialism.
I share considerable governance in Teaching Schools, as a member of a founding Multi Academy Trust and as a member and chair of an LGB in the West Midlands. In 2019 I was awarded an Honorary degree from St John's University York for services to education.
Recently moved to the area I enjoy, golf, exploring the locality, playing musical instruments and keeping up to date with all aspects of teaching and learning both locally and nationally.
